BLANCA Charming town in whose historic center the Casa Rural El Solán is located. It is bathed by the waters of the Segura River, which are stagnant in the beautiful Azud de Ojós. From the spectacular viewpoint of Alto Bayna we get a magnificent view of the entire area. The presence of the river surprises the visitor with the beautiful scenes that it leaves behind. Other privileged places to contemplate them are the viewpoint of the Virgen Blanca and the climb to the Alto Palomo neighborhood. Taking a walk along its banks, under the omnipresent blue sky, is a sight that our visitors will not forget.
Blanca's history goes back in time to an Arab past when she was called Negra. Its best archaeological sample is its Moorish Fortress Castle, dating from the 12th century. The parish church of San Juan Evangelista, built in the 16th century, also stands out. The town surprises us in each of its corners with places such as the Lavadero de las Escanales, the Casa de la Favorita, the Noria de Miguelico Núñez or the Interpretation Center of light and water. It also preserves typical vegetable garden traditions, such as the manufacture of esparto rugs.
The privileged situation of our Rural House will also allow you to enjoy its festivities:
January 6: Dismissal of souls (groups of animeros sing the carols of the "aguilando" in the streets).
Spring festivities: They are held the week after Easter, with the San Roque pilgrimage being the Friday following Good Friday.
August Festivities, in honor of San Roque. We can say that the Sanfermines come to Blanca. There is a spectacular running of the bulls with more than one hundred years old.
The Town Hall of BlancaIt has a varied cultural and sports program throughout the year that takes place in the following spaces: Victoria Theater, Villa de Blanca Exhibition Hall, House of Culture and Municipal Swimming Pool.
On your walk through Blanca, it is essential to visit the Museum and Art Center of Blanca (MUCAB), which houses the Pedro Cano Foundation, which brings together oils, watercolors, drawings and travel notebooks by the Murcian artist.
